Check upload speed and stability

Zoom distinguishes upload and download requirements according to meeting quality. Beyond bandwidth, an intermittent connection can disrupt conversation. Test your work computer over a cable where possible to distinguish Wi-Fi from internet access problems.

Ask about equipment

Describe the workstation's location relative to the router. Ask whether additional access points are needed and their cost. Do not assume the included router guarantees a good signal through every wall.

Plan your switch

Before cancelling your current service, check the new service's availability and schedule. If continuity matters, consider overlapping services and the cost. No date is reserved until the provider confirms it.
