What internet speed does your home need?

Count simultaneous activities, not just the devices you own.

Distinguish connectivity from simultaneous use

A powered-on device does not necessarily use maximum bandwidth. Think about peak usage: streaming screens, remote work, downloads and backups. That scenario is more useful than counting every device at home.

A streaming reference

Netflix recommends a stable connection of at least 15 Mbps for one 4K screen. This applies to that activity, not an entire household. Other simultaneous activities require extra capacity; performance also depends on signal and equipment.

Do not forget upload speed

Sending files, backing up photos and video calling use upload capacity. Two plans with the same download speed may perform differently for these tasks. Ask the adviser if upload speed is not listed.

Use the calculator as guidance

Our tool adds declared activities and an explicit margin. It does not measure your connection, guarantee performance or replace a Wi-Fi review. If the result is below the catalogue's smallest plan, that does not establish you need a higher tier.

Describe your usage before choosing a speed

A home with several screens

Count simultaneous streams and their quality. Netflix publishes requirements by video quality; these values alone do not represent the home’s total demand.

Work, study and files

Include video calls and cloud uploads. An estimate guides comparison; it does not guarantee Wi-Fi or application performance.
